Community Action Partnership of Riverside County
I would like to take the time to introduce
the Community Action Partnership of Riverside County. They are a non-Profit 501 (c) (3) Anti-Poverty
Organization, striving to assist Riverside County residents. My involvement with the CAP was to assist in
getting Blankets, Jackets and Sleeping Bags to those in need due to the extreme cold weather and
rain. There were so many people affected by the storms from
December 2010 through February 2011 that supplies given went faster than I thought they would. Overall, all that
needed were provided. Thank you CAP Riverside.
Recent activities have included:
Hosting an outreach for those
needing Utility Assistance and Weatherization of
Helping income qualified families and
individuals affected by the severe weather (rain, flood, debris, etc.) complete an Intake Form
Rental Assistance (to be
completed by landlord)
Food, clothing and home essentials vouchers
*You must attach your monthly income (i.e. pay stub or
deposit page of your bank statement) and a copy of you ID showing Riverside County address (a utility bill
showing your name and a riverside county address will work).
Here are a few of the comments from the ministry and
people who received assistence.
I travel the roads of our local cities, I find more and more families and individuals who are
unable to feed their families and themselves. They are unable to purchase the required clothing
to stay warm during these bitter cold winter months. I have spoken with most of the affected
individuals to find out the many reasons they are in this position right now. You would be
amazed at how many of the homeless lived the same lives we live right now. All of the people I
have spoken with say they would work and want to work but cannot find a job. All of them
had a job but the high cost of living and our crazy economy has taken root and cost them
everything. Most of the homeless have tents, but there is a growing number without tents,
sleeping bags and other essentials and no way to purchase any.
Brothers, sisters, friends and
family, my heart cries out for them. I cannot do this alone. I need your help. I have no way to
do it all, not alone that is. Will you help me help them? Will you help this great country help
its own citizens?
I thank you for your assistance.
E-mail me if you want to help or donate if you think it would be easier. I thank all of you that
have stood beside me and helped take care of our own.
God Bless you

The weather change in Southern California brought much
rain and bitter cold temperatures to Lake Elsinore and its surrounding cities. I was told the water
level in the lake rose approximately 6 feet and many people had to move from the water drenched
living areas. Many residents of the area trying to stay warm and dry, surviving day to day sometime
even minute to minute.
In late December, I was contacted by Community Action Partnership
with regards to our local community's needs. They came out with Jackets and blankets for our less
fortunate residents at just the right time. The provided warmth and love given by their
organization helped renewed strength both emotionally and physically to our brothers and
I would like to thank Kathy Snyder with the Community Action
Partnership of Riverside County and the State of California for their helping hands and this
opportunity to help our local residents.
